Q. How many characters can my engraving be?
A. 31 characters is the max for any engravable
item. Engravable paint cans, you may still engrave 31 characters, however
using all 31 means you will be unable to see how many sprays you have left
in the can. If you limit your engraving to 26 characters, you will be able
to see just the number of sprays remaining. Limiting it to 20 characters
will allow the entire paint can message to appear.
Q. What does a session consist of?
A. When an engraver comes to engrave and then
leaves when done, This would be one session. Each session is a minimum of
one hour.
Q. Can I have any item engraved?
A. Only items
with the ID "Engravable"
in their name may be engraved, unless you have an Orb.
Q. How many items can I have engraved at one time?
A. You are allowed to have four items per session
engraved.
Q. If I have an item engraved in one session, can I have
another item engraved in the next session?
A. Yes, there is a limit of four items per session
but you may attend as many sessions as you are able to.
Q. I can't make the scheduled shifts, can I ESP an engraver
to arrange to have an item engraved.
A. Engravers may engrave when they are not on
shift, however most are usually only in world during their scheduled
shift times. They may decide at their convenience to hold additional
engraving sessions.
Q. What if I decide after having an item engraved that
I want to change the ID?
A. You will need to purchase a new "Engravable" item from the vendo,
unless you have an Orb. Items can only be engraved
one time otherwise.
Q. I've purchased a coffin from the AvatarWares Holiday
catalog from another avatar in world, can I have it re-engraved?
A. All engravable items may only be
engraved one time, unless you have an Orb. This includes those items purchased from AvatarWares
as well as vendos or other members.
Q. Do I hold the item I wish to have engraved in my hand
or hand it to the Engraver?
A. You must
place the item on the floor so that the Engraver can engrave it. They will
pick it up then do the engraving, then hand the item to you when it is
completed. When you are with the engraver, no one other than another staff
member may un-ghost so your
item on the floor will be safe.
Q. The ID on my item was spelled wrong, how can I have
it changed?
A. It is your
responsibility to check the spelling on your item before ghosting or leaving
the Engravers locale. If it's incorrectly spelled, please tell the Engraver
at the time of engraving. Once you leave the locale spelling errors will not
be corrected unless using an Orb.
Q. How do I arrange to have an item engraved?
A. Please refer to the Engravers schedule
on the front door and plan
on attending one of the scheduled shifts.
Q. Will you ever engrave items not purchased from the Engravers
vendo?
A. There are
several places around nH offering items for sale which are engravable. For example:
The Party Store, The Wedding
Chapel and Seattle Memorial Park. Some AvatarWares are also sold as
Engravables.
Items which are not ID'd as engravable may not be engraved unless using an Engraving Orb.
Q. What is an Engraving Orb and how do they work?
A. An
Engraving Orb is one of the monthly prizes for daily guide/partner games.
You may either win one or purchase one from another member. Take the orb to
an engraving session and give the orb to the engraver on duty. The engraver
will then engrave any one item of your choice, even items not originally ID'd
as engravable. This will include AvatarWares, prize items, vendo items and banner items. It will not include
body tickets, avatars or tokens. The Engravers are required to keep the orb once it has been used.
ALL OTHER ENGRAVING RULES WILL STILL APPLY.

A. No they are
hand picked from the community and do not currently hold other staff
positions.
