An item will be engraved only by personal request of the avatar that possesses it. No requests for engravings will be made by third parties. A "Third Party Request" is when you seek to have something engraved to help out a friend. You are not having the engraving done for your self, but for someone else at their request.

If you wish to have something engraved to give to a person, or as a remembrance for yourself with another person's name on it the following rules will apply.

An item may be engraved only once. Re-engraving is not permitted without an Orb. This includes engravables from AvatarWares Catalogs with the original ID tag "AvatarWares Engravable-#"

Engraving will not include any reference to ftp, www, http, irc, or e-mail addresses. This will insure that others will not be subjected to malicious, vulgar, inappropriate content and or advertising in general.

Engraving will not include any reference to "prize" or prize items, event names, in world group names (i.e. PHP, CatClan,), or any letters/words/phrases which might be obviously construed as an item intended to be used as a prize in an event, game, or contest.

Engravings with dates may be in either the mm/dd/yy format or the dd/mm/yy format. Example here for wedding in the dd/mm/yy  format: "Johndoe & Janedoe 21/6/06" and mm/dd/yy  format for birthdays: "Happy Birthday <Name> 6/21/06"

Engraving will not include letters, words, or phrases, which spell out or imply direct references to Stratagem Corp., past or present partners (i.e. Planet Out, Xoom, Delphi etc.) or staff titles. For example, "Manager", "Management", "Caretaker", "Guide", "Engraver", "Host", "Welcomer", "Creator" etc. will not be allowed.

Engravings will not include direct nor indirect references to illicit drug use/abuse or to illicit drugs themselves.

Engraving will not include direct or indirect sexual references, profanity or negative references to individuals, groups, or other parties both in world or real world. Any other letters/words/phrases which would be obvious violations of Terms of Membership guidelines, or obviously and grossly in poor taste or objectionable to any reasonable person will also not be permitted.

Engravings in foreign languages, that cannot be translated by the Engraver, will be put on hold pending approval by Management.

Engraving will not include letters/words/phrases which in any way would be deemed to damage Stratagem Corp., their products, partners, employees, agents, or other affiliated parties and individuals.

It is the duty of the Engravers to make the judgment on whether or not an engraving will be permitted. Appeals to this judgment may be made to the Engraver Caretaker and/or World Managers, whether the objection is about an item that has been engraved, or an engraving that was denied.

Bulk engravings can be arranged by filling out and submitting the Bulk Engraving Request Form . Please allow 3-4 days for a response and please give at least 1 weeks notice. 
Bulk engravings will be done for weddings, memorials, birthdays, personal host thank you, and Event host thank you items only, using the format "Johndoe & Janedoe 1/1/01" for weddings and "Happy Birthday Name 9/21/01" or "HB Name 9/21/01" or "Happy B Day Name 9/21/01".

Individual Hosts may have a Bulk Engraving done to thank their players, as long as it is not in conflict with the guidelines, and is NOT handed out as a prize.

No more than a total of 30 bulk engravings will be done for any one memorial, 20 for any one wedding, 10 for any one birthday and no more than a total of 48 bulk engravings will be done for host thank you items per sponsored event. Bulk engraving of this type must be made by a single person. Multiple requests will be rejected. All bulk request will be recorded by the engraver to include item, requested text on item and name of person making request. Personal Host Thank- You's can be no more than 48.

The engraver retains the right to refuse a request if the engraver is unsure if the request is in conflict with any of the current guidelines.

If it comes to management's attention that this service of the engravers is being abused or exploited by any member, they may be barred from having further items engraved.

Exceptions to the above rules will be made rarely, and only for publicized one-of-a-kind events or occurrences as the world managers see fit and approve. Thank you for your cooperation in helping us follow the above guidelines.
