On November 5th a very strange event occurred in front
of the Village Apartments as a volley of raindrops began to fall.
To my amazement many bystanders whipped out their umbrella's and proceeded
to chat as if nothing strange was happening.
When the flood waters began to reach neck level people began to panic and
scrambled for higher ground and I, not having an umbrella took shelter under
the cake (whose candles eventually went out). Eventually even some fish
found their way into the flood waters and began to romp about in front of
the bystanders.
Luckily as the waters rose above head level amid frantic "Blub Blub"s
from the bystanders the rain stopped, the storm drains cleared and the flood
abated. There were no casualties. |
